Time Out With Trees

.

Evelyn Lavelle is an experienced professional who has retrained as an INFTA-Certified Forest Therapy Guide after working in the Aged and Disability sector for many years.

Her background in a variety of roles, including nursing, teaching, aged and disability services, psychology and sociology studies, has provided her with an understanding and empathy for the potential stressors in everyday living.

Research has shown that Forest Therapy has direct benefits of reduced stress, reduced blood pressure, improved immune system, faster recovery after surgery, improved heart and lung health and increase in the natural killer cells, which are the cells in the body that fight cancer and tumours.  Forest Therapy’s holistic approach recognises the role of phytoncides, natural substances emitted by trees, and the concept of biophilia.  It was E.O. Wilson who popularized the idea that humans have an intrinsic need to connect to the natural world.

Time Out With Trees offers nature-based interventions for individuals and groups.

Nature is the therapy, and your Time Out With Trees Forest Therapy Guide can assist you to reconnect with it.

"Some old-fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine are hard to beat."
